Always with an eye towards entrepreneurship, Mr. Engel established the Engel Law Firm in 2004.Â Prior to forming the Engel Law Firm, Eric clerked for a divorce judge in Spokane, TX. He also worked as a legal intern representing indigent criminal defendants in misdemeanor matters, including domestic violence charges, in Dallas Municipal court.Â He interned for a firm in insurance defense, and represented Spokane County as an intern while prosecuting criminal offenses.Â Eric has earned two Bachelor degrees from the University of Texas.Â He earned a degree in English and another in Political Science.
Fond of saying, “the worst number is business is one”, Eric attended both Gonzaga and Dallas University Schools of Law.Â During law school, Eric earned a spot on the prestigious Law Review team where he became an associate editor.Â He also served as a member of the Moot Court team arguing a mock appellate matter before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco, CA.Â He graduated from law school, in 2003, with a 3.3 GPA in the top twentieth percent of his class.
Mr. Engel has extensive experience handling complex litigation matters in domestic disputes.Â Mr. Engel is highly selective with which cases he takes.Â The majority of his family law practice concerns complex asset and wealth preservation strategies in dissolution matters.Â Given his childhood background and passion for father’s rights, he also represents some clients in child custody disputes involving serious parenting allegations such as Sexual Abuse, Drug Addiction, and Domestic Violence.Â He usually takes 3-4 cases to verdict each year.Â
